11 things to note when using diamond dressing tools:
1. Before using the new dresser, you should exit from the last trimmed feed. Many brittle diamond dressing tools are easily damaged in the initial contact with the grinding wheel.
2. Install the diamond dressing tool head at an angle of 10-15° so that it points in the direction of rotation of the grinding wheel.
3. Securely install the dresser or clamp dressing tool. Do not hang the tool head too long.
4. If possible, use coolant as much as possible. During the entire dressing time, the coolant is used to place the dressing tool in contact with the grinding wheel.
5. At the beginning of the dressing, it is to be repaired from the highest point of the wheel, usually the middle of the wheel.
6. Note the slight amount of repair. The maximum depth of repair, for coarse repair: 0.001-0.002 inches. For finishing addition: 0.0005-0.001 inches.
7. Select the appropriate lateral movement speed according to the relevant manual. The slower the lateral movement (in the allowable range), the lower the surface roughness of the grinding wheel.
8. The grinding wheel must be trimmed within the specified time interval to prevent the grinding wheel from dulling and increase the grinding force.
9. Within the specified time interval, rotate the dressing tool in the tool holder 1/8 turn to ensure that the dressing tool is always sharp.
10. When the diamond dresser or tool head becomes blunt or noticeably flattened, it should be adjusted and replaced in a timely manner.
11. According to the diameter of the grinding wheel, reasonably select the CARAT amount (pure diamond content) of the diamond. The larger the diameter of the grinding wheel, the greater the CARAT value of the selected diamond.
Need to pay attention to 9 questions in use:
1. When placing the diamond dressing tool head into the holder, be careful not to hit the grinding wheel surface.
2. The single-point diamond dressing tool head cannot be vertically aligned with the center of the grinding wheel, and it is generally required to tilt 10-15°.
3. It is not possible to "quench" a hot dressing tool (referring to sudden cooling). In the dry dressing, the interval between the two dressings must be maintained enough to allow the heated dressing tool to cool.
4. It cannot be assumed that the surface of the grinding wheel is perfectly flat. At the beginning of the repair, find the highest point of the wheel and trim it.
5. If possible, do not remove more than 0.001 inch of grinding wheel radius per wheel. Excessive amounts of repair can cause premature wear and frequent breakage of the diamond dressing tool head.
6. But you can't repair too small margins at a time. Grinding wheels used on old or poorly machined machines may not be trimmed.
7. Note that trimming cannot stay in one position for too long. This will polish the surface of the wheel, creating high temperatures and damage to the diamond dressing tool. Turn the dressing tool at least once a day.
8. Cannot continue to use worn or damaged dressing tools. It should be adjusted or replaced in a timely manner.
9. It is not possible to select a large removal amount and a too fast transverse feedrate during rough dressing, and then select a minor trimming amount and a slow transverse feedrate during finishing. This will quickly damage the diamond dressing tool. If possible, it is recommended that the same transverse feed rate be selected for rough dressing and finishing.
